Juanita is an experienced decorator, designer, and former fashion-industry professional with extensive exposure to international travel, local trends, and the fashion world as a whole. After decades of shaping style, atmosphere, and mood, she realised she wasn’t ready for retirement.

Seeing a gap in the function-hire industry for furniture that is eclectic, elegant, and bespoke, she decided not to retire but to “re-fire.” With her eye for detail and her experience in designing and creating furniture, crafting unique, handcrafted pieces came naturally. Running through all the pieces is her golden thread of natural ability and artistic flair.

The natural choice of partner was her son, Adriaan, whose eye for design was shaped by a childhood filled with beauty, fabrics, colourful events, and constant creativity. Boring simply didn’t exist in their vocabulary – everything was an opportunity to innovate. His love of the outdoors deepens his appreciation for colour, form, and texture. As a true people-person, he brings a youthful, fresh, and adventurous perspective to Ynot.
